Multi-Broadcast Solution
Re-solving a UX proposal using existing design-system primitives to reduce engineering cost.
Overview
As Fubo expanded its sports offering, users would often see the same matchup listed multiple times across different broadcast networks, creating confusion and decision friction. I worked closely with UX and engineering to refine the proposed solution, leveraging existing design system patterns instead of introducing custom UI. The result was a clearer experience for users and a more scalable solution that reduced engineering effort and long-term maintenance costs.

01. Duplicate Match Listings
Fubo often carries the same sporting event across multiple broadcast networks. On the Sports page, this resulted in users seeing the same matchup listed multiple times without understanding why or which broadcast to choose. While the initial proposal addressed this issue, it relied on several custom UI patterns and interactions that sat outside the design system, increasing implementation complexity and long-term maintenance costs.
02. Designing Within the System
I started by focusing on the core user need: helping viewers understand when multiple broadcasts were available for the same match and making it easy to choose between them. I then evaluated the proposal against existing design system patterns and identified opportunities to reuse components and interactions already familiar to users. By building on established foundations, we were able to solve the problem without introducing custom UI, additional engineering effort, or unnecessary complexity.
03. Consolidating Broadcast Options
The final solution consolidated duplicate match listings into a single entry point, making it easier for users to understand when multiple broadcasts were available for the same event. Rather than introducing new components or interaction models, the experience was built using existing design system patterns and familiar UI behaviors already present throughout the product.
By building on established foundations, we were able to improve clarity for users while creating a solution that was easier for engineering to implement, maintain, and scale across platforms.
